Save Money Using Renewable Energy with a Solar Water Heater

The American-made solar water heater is designed for use with a wide range of solar and multi-fuel system configurations. Heavy gauge steel construction paired with Hydrastone cement lining ensures long life. Premium CFC free polyurethane foam insulation provides a high level of efficiency and allows for very low heat loss, ensuring that the energy captured from any heat source remains in your system. Available model configurations include single or dual finned copper heat exchanger coils mounted on isolating, double O-ring flanges to allow for maximum heat transfer rates, while maintaining tank integrity and protecting against electrolysis.

 

This tank can provide your home with hot water from the solar water heater through three sources:

  1. Via your wood cook stove – when your stove is heating the house it will also make hot water which will go into the solar water heater using the principle of heat convention. No pump or electric needed. View our wood cook stoves: https://stovesandmore.com/product-category/wood-cook-stoves/
  2. Via grid power – in the off seasons when your stove isn’t running consistently to keep you supplied with hot water, the solar hybrid’s heat exchanger (elements) will heat up the water and keep it hot. In this capacity, it functions just like any other electric hot water heater.
  3. Via solar collectors – the solar water heater can also be connected to your solar water collectors. With an in-line pump in place, the sun-heated hot water will store in the tank. The water will continually circulate into the collectors.

You have the option to turn on the circuit breaker to the tank with options 1 and 3 if you want the solar water heater to keep already made hot water hot. But if you will be using the hot water, then the breaker can be turned off and no grid power will be used.
